Each year on March 8th, International Women’s Day, thousands of events are held throughout the world to inspire women and celebrate achievements while exploring where change is still needed.

This year’s featured event at UC San Diego is a talk and Q&A session with Dodai Stewartthe entertainment-obsessed director of Fusion's Pop + Culture section. At Fusion, a multi-platform media company launched in 2013, she oversees clever commentary about music, movies, TV, style, weird/random stuff, and more. She was previously the deputy editor (and one of the founding editors) at Jezebel.com, and has written for various publications, including Entertainment Weekly, Modern Bride, New York Magazine, Glamour, and The New York Times.

UC San Diego’s 2016 IWD theme is #ActivismLooksLike. Dodai’s talk will focus on themes of activism, self-care, and intersectionality as they relate to pop culture.

Free FEMINIST t-shirts from the Women’s Center will be given to the first 40 people to arrive! So come early to get a good seat and a highly-sought after FEMINIST t-shirt!
